Wow, Joe Jackson is just evil. Taking those kids on the road would go against every parenting belief that Michael Jackson had. I really hope Katharine, Debbie,
and anyone else who claims to love these kids band together to protect them from him.
I'm conflicted about Debbie Rowe. I don't understand her willingness to essentially sell her kids to Michael Jackson, but on the other hand, she doesn't seem to be very smart. It could very well be that MJ intimidated her and she felt that she would never win anyway, so she might as well get some money out of it. I do hope she can establish a relationship with Prince & Paris. In the absence of abuse, it's always better for kids to know their parents. |

I have sympathy for Michael Jackson, just like I do for everybody else with an extreme addiction... to gambling, pornography, cigarettes, the internet, sex,
but especially to alcohol, street drugs, and pain killers. We all have the potential to become addicted to something. Give thanks if you're not.
You may have seen on the news just recently that 31 yr. old Nicole Bobek (1995 U.S. National champion and World bronze medalist figure skater) was arrested on charges of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in Hudson County, New Jersey. She could face up to ten years in prison if convicted. She very well may not be, but this gives me the impression that she's a drug addict. Either way, how sad for her family. She had the best spiral in fs in her day.
I beat smoking about 40 years ago, so my only addictions now are food and Diet Coke. |

LA mayor: City will pay costs from Jackson eventAssociated Press - July 14, 2009 12:47 AM PDT |

Villaraigosa, who was vacationing in South Africa a week ago when more than 17,000 fans flocked to downtown Los Angeles to watch the public memorial, asserted Monday that the city will pay. He said he will not ask the Jackson family or AEG Live, the owner of the Staples Center where the event was held, to help the city recoup its expenses, and he lambasted a city Web site set up to request donations. villaraigosa is so kewl! despite his being a major player, he's such a great mayor. i wanted to post this article, in part, that refutes the one i put above. where do all these rumors come from? it's like people are just sitting around thinking them up. what happened to verifying before publication? they just seem to re-publishing what other news outlets say. i don't think i'll believe anything the media says ever again. "This is a world-class city, and we provide fire and police protection, period," Villaraigosa said during his first public appearance since returning from his weeklong trip. "The idea that we would charge the family for a funeral is nonsensical." If this was any other family I might agree with his statement - however, there wasn't any other family (or promoter for that matter) that was going to turn downtown LA into a circus for a funeral either. I'm sorry, I side with LA city council on this one - as do some of my LA friends who are going to be tapped out of pocket for this expense at a time when the city can least afford this.
