it made me think maybe something was wrong between the two of them. the "wanted to be a white person" was a highly reactionary statement. as was the ray charles remark. quincy has been known to get really strange sometimes, tho, so who knows what, or where, he was coming from.I thought his evaluation of Michael was a bit harsh for someone who was supposedly a very close friend

Michael had emotional problems from years of abuse, but that doesn't necessarily have a connection to his drug use or to the allegations about child abuse.
There's a certain percentage of the general population that will develop addictions to alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, etc. It's predestined by genetics and brain chemistry. With alcohol and opiate drugs, uncontrollable cravings are generated by the buildup of Tetrahydrolsoqulnoline or THIQ in the brain. There have been numerous studies confirming the buildup and retention of THIQ in the brain over many years, which is linked to cravings and also relapses. It's a biochemical problem, not a sign of strength or weakness of the person with the disease. Many recovery programs exist to help those who truly want to get better. Time will tell if Michael Jackson was one of those people. |

I think Michael saw himself as a black man and his plastic surgery was less an attempt to be white than an attempt to remake himself into what he perceived as
the ideal man. He wouldn't be the first performer to have an unrealistic body image, it's just unfortunate that he had the money to pay plastic
surgeons to continue butchering his face.
I would like to point out that MJ did not adopt any of his children. Since he was married to Debbie Rowe when Prince & Paris were born, he is legally listed as their father. As for Blanket, I'm assuming that the birth mother listed him as the biological father on the birth certificate. While he may or may not be their biological father, he was very much their dad. |

(i don't think) the serenity and beauty of neverland would be just perfect. i might even visit myself...after the crowds die down. there's 2400 acres there! room for parking, room to get off by yourself. it'd be fabulous! has anyone seen the ghost video from the larry king broadcast? i swear it's a crew member, but this video has already had 2 million views. this ghost thing is being covered internationally! i can't believe it! aahh, now the really weird urban tales begin... |

I volunteer a few hours a week to help families cope with alcohol and drug addiction, so the education comes for free. There's a lot available on the
internet, too, so anyone can become educated about the disease concept for alcohol and drug addiction if it would help them to cope.
I hope they lay Michael to rest and leave him in peace. He left a legacy of music and dance that can be celebrated for many years to come. |

Just an FYI. As far as I know, the theory that tetrahydroisoquinoline build up causes alcoholism was always controversial and is no longer accepted. I just did a quick search and I think it simply came from finding that alcoholics had high TIQ levels in their urine (the paper was in Science, 1978). I don't know how people got the idea that this was the cause of craving. Maybe there's another paper on this, but I shouldn't spend time looking it up right now. Anyway, TIQ seems to me like the consequence, not cause, of alcoholism because alcohol metabolism creates a lot of compounds called aldehydes and these will react with dopamine to create TIQ. TIQ and similar metabolites kill dopaminergic neurons and people think that this is one cause of Parkinson's.

edict required), but that was the Pope, not an entertainer. Let's stick with the facts instead of pulling stuff out of our arse, shall we?
Not even remotely close to the same thing. This is a spectacle of insane proportions and is starting to become macabre. Some perspective would have been nice...clearly not going to happen.
